Product Description

#Amur carp (Cyprinus rubrofuscus),an improved strain of wild common carp of Hungarian origin is known as Amur Common Carp. The Amur Common Carp has greater practical significance in low-input aquaculture systems due to its better growth performance than the existing strain.Amur carp, is a species ofcyprinidfish, It is widespread in thefresh watersofeastern Asia, native toChina,Korea,Russia,VietnamandLaosfrom theAmurtoRed Riverbasins, and has also beenintroducedoutside its native range,It is known for its muddy flavor and boniness, hence, it is not commonly eaten by locals except whenstewed. In the past, it was considered asubspeciesof thecommon (or European) carp, often under the scientific nameC. carpio haematopterus(asynonym), but the two differ ingeneticsandmeristics, leading recent authorities to recognize them as separate species.Although earlier studies also have found minor differences between northern ("haematopterus") and southern ("viridiviolaceus") populations in Eastern Asia in both meristicsand genetics, later studies have found that they are notmonophyletic. However, anyphylogeneticstructure is difficult to establish because of widespread translocations of carp between different regions. The parent species of the domesticatedkoicarp is an East Asian carp, possiblyC. rubrofuscus(notC. carpio).
